Eileen B. Baird, 78, Burnsville, MN, formerly of Hibbing, died Friday, October 6, 2017 in Burnsville. She was born in Crookston, MN to Ovilla and Annette (Leffard) Plante on October 13, 1938.  She had been employed with the 3M Co. as an Administrative Assistant. Eileen loved to dance, play golf, travel and spend time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph Schmidt, children, Vicky (Loren) Duff, Chisholm, Mark (Janice) Baird, Oakdale, MN, Laurie (Steve Broucek) Rice, Burnsville, Monica (Bill Christensen) LaBarge, Hibbing, and Neil (Leisel) Baird, Bremerton, WA, siblings, Lenore (Leonard) Perreault, Grand Rapids, MN, Jim Plante, Aitkin,  Lowell (Joyce) Plante, Twin Falls, ID and Monica (Larry) Beauchene, The Villiages, FL,     stepchildren, Chris (Annette) Schmidt, Ashland, Neb., Carl (Sheri) Schmidt, Kansas City, MO, Carol (Doug) Stamper, Sammamish, WA, and Cheryl (John) Hahn, Council Bluffs, Iowa, 20 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Wallace Baird, grandson, Robert Baird, and brothers, Dennis, Merle, and Keith Plante.
Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am. Saturday, October 14, 2017 in Mary Mother of the Church Catholic Church, 3333 Cliff Rd. E., Burnsville, MN 55337 with visitation one hour before the service.  Burial will be at 1:00 pm. Monday October 16, 2017 in Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home.
