Eileen I. Doucette, 80, Hibbing, died Friday, December 28, 2012, at Guardian Angels Health Care Center, Hibbing.  She was born in Ironwood, MI, on April 11, 1932, to Verner and Helia (Kahara) Makela.  Eileen graduated from Wakefield (MI) High School and had worked as a nurse’s aide in Lake Forest, IL for several years.  She was united in marriage to Ken Doucette in 1952, and they made their home in Hibbing.  Eileen enjoyed entertaining and socializing with their friends.  She had volunteered at University Medical Center in Hibbing.  She loved to keep in touch with family and friends both by phone conversations and by writing letters.  Her family would like to extend their gratitude to both Fairview University Medical Center and Guardian Angels for the excellent care that they gave to Eileen.
She is survived by four sons:  Douglas Doucette of Salt Lake City, UT, David (Nancy) Doucette of Hibbing, Dan Doucette of Ramsey, MN, and Don (Cari) Doucette of Maple Grove, MN; nine grandchildren:  Wendy, Lisa, Jill, Michael, Ashley, Matthew, Jordan, Alex, and Nolan; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  A great-great-grandchild is expected in February of 2013.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken, in 2007; by her parents; and by a brother, Thomas Makela.
Visitation will be Wednesday January 2, 2013, at Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing, from 6—8 PM and also on Thursday from 10 AM until the 11 AM funeral service in the funeral home.
