Elizabeth May Fatticci
Elizabeth M. Fatticci, 92, Hibbing died Monday, July 25, 2016, at Cornerstone Villa in Buhl, MN. Elizabeth was born on May 26, 1924, to Matthew and Emma (Skibba) Panyan in Buhl, MN. She graduated from Buhl High School. Elizabeth moved to Hibbing in 1946 and was one of the first students to complete the two year nursing program at Hibbing Junior College. She married Michael A. Fatticci in May of 1945 in Hibbing. A homemaker by trade, her family was very important to her. Elizabeth was a dedicated wife, mother, grandma, and friend. She was a founding member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hibbing. She was extremely active in her church especially with funeral lunches, bazaars, church breakfasts, and special occasions. Elizabeth was also a member of the Buhl Girls at Atrium, and various sewing clubs. Her hobbies included knitting over 100 afghans, crocheting, blueberry picking, and baking. She was well known for the world’s finest antipasto and her wonderful potica.
Elizabeth is survived by three sons: Patrick (Jan) Fatticci, Hibbing, Paul (Nancy) Fatticci, Hibbing, and Mark Fatticci, Bismarck, ND; a brother, Richard (Patricia) Panyan, Gilbert, MN; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Seiloff; her husband, Michael, in 1982; by her parents; and a sister, Catherine.
Funeral service for Elizabeth will be 11 AM, Thursday, July 28, 2016, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hibbing. The Rev. Fr. Nick Nelson will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation will be in church on Thursday for one hour prior to the funeral Mass. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing. Arrangements are with Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
