Elizabeth "Liz" A. Starcevic

Elizabeth A. Starcevic, 86 of Hibbing died Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at The Spirit of Home in Hibbing where she resided for the last three years of her life. Liz was born on November 1, 1937 in Eveleth to Kenneth Sr. and Angeline (Ellersich) Richards.

Liz graduated from Eveleth High School and upon graduation attended the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth where she earned a degree in education. She was united in marriage to William S. Starcevic on March 31, 1973 in Eveleth. Liz was employed by the Hibbing Public School District and taught students at Brooklynn and Greenhaven Elementary Schools. Liz was a gifted musician and artist and enjoyed spreading joy to others through her arts and crafts. Liz was active in her college sorority and a member the Blessed Sacrament Church in Hibbing. Liz was an active person and after retirement, enjoyed golf and other activities at their cabin on Swan Lake and residence in Arizona.

Liz is survived by her husband, William (Bill) Starcevic of Hibbing; step-daughters, Sherry (Mark) Apfel of Copper Canyon, TX and Debbie (Patrick) Le Normand of Geneva, Switzerland; sister-in-law, Betty Hagen, of Hibbing; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Kenneth Richards Jr. and Thomas Richards. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 8, 2024 at Blessed Sacrament Church, Hibbing. Celebrant will be Fr. Daniel Weiske. Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. prior to mass at the church. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing.
