Evelyn E. “Tootsie” Anderson
Evelyn E. “Tootsie” Anderson, 92, Hibbing, died Sunday, January 31, 2016, at Heritage Manor in Chisholm. She was born in Thief River Falls, MN on August 25, 1923, to Albert and Severina (Yttri) Johnson. She was a 1942 graduate of Hibbing High School. Tootsie was a very active member of First Lutheran Church in Hibbing, Sons of Norway, and VFW Post 8510 Ladies Auxiliary of Hibbing. She took three notable trips to Norway, where she met and visited her Norwegian relatives.
She is survived by four children: Chester Anderson, Evanston, WY, Craig Anderson, Nashwauk, Gloria (George) Maras, Hibbing, and Charlie Anderson, Nashwauk, MN; siblings: Bertha (Bud) Engebretson, Hibbing, and James (Patricia) Johnson, Meadowlands, MN; a special nephew, Ben (Debbie) Castagneri, Hibbing, MN; a special cousin, Turid Holde, and her family, Drammen, Norway; seven grandchildren, Anita Anderson (Dan Taylor), Aaron (Heidi) Anderson, Jason Knaffla, Kristin (TJ) Renskers, John Maras (Nicole Soderholm) April (Ben) Kurtock, Charles Anderson (Sara Hardy) and seven great-grandchildren, Lindsay Anderson, Toni Moberg, Chase Knaffla, Kasey Jo Renskers, Evelyn Renskers, Lexy Kurtock and Lucas Kurtock. Former Daughter in laws Debbie Nynas and Shelley Tweeten, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Severina; former husband, Chester Anderson; siblings, Arthur Johnson, Carrie Steager, Stanley Johnson, Edith Cummings, Vivian Castagneri, Doris Gunderman, and Victor Johnson; and two daughters-in-law, Diane Anderson, and Ellen Anderson.
Funeral services for Tootsie will be

Saturday, February 13, 2016
, at First Lutheran Church in Hibbing. The Rev. Ben Schori will officiate. There will be a reception in the church hall immediately following the funeral service. Visitation will be
Saturday
for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. A private interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are with Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
