Evelyn M. Hyduke
Evelyn M. Hyduke, 90, Duluth, previously of Hibbing passed away Friday February 17, 2017 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN. She was born February 3, 1927 to Nicholas and Ella (Ellingson) Neumann in Duluth. Evelyn married George Hyduke on July 26, 1947 in Duluth. A homemaker by trade, Evelyn loved being a wife to George, a mother to her children, and a grandmother to her grandchildren. Evelyn was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Parish in Hibbing, where she was a Lector for over 25 years. She worked as a housekeeper for St. Leo’s Rectory/Parish Center for many years. She was also employed in the pro shop at the Hibbing Municipal Golf course. Evelyn was a lifetime member of the VFW ladies auxiliary. She was very active in the senior center where she loved to play cribbage. She was an avid bird watcher, a member of Women’s Sr. Bowling League of Hibbing, and Women’s Bocce League during the summer.
Evelyn is survived by her 9 children; Eileen (Tim) Kytonen, Center City MN, Mary Kay (Dave) Andert, Duluth, MN, Kathleen (David) Jacques, El Paso TX, Nancy Hyduke, Hibbing, Peter (Cindy) Hyduke, Hibbing, Evelyn Kehtel, Duluth, Georgiann (Thomas) Kuberra, Hermantown, Richard (Carin) Hyduke, Hibbing, John (Lisa Tormondsen) Hyduke, Eden Prairie, MN, brother, Paul (Floanne) Neumann, Oak Grove, MN, her sisters Junella Tarnowski of Duluth, Delores Zervas of Esko, MN, thirty-one grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband George Hyduke in 1998, her parents, a sister Marie Gondek, and 5 brothers John Neumann, George Neumann, Ray Neumann, Peter Neumann, and Richard Neumann.
Funeral services for Evelyn will be 11:00am, Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing. The Rev. Fr. Peter Muhich will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Fr. Gabriel Waweru concelebrating. Visitation will be from 6-8pm, Monday, February 27, 2017 at Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing with recitation of the Rosary at 7:30pm. The visitation will continue one hour prior to the funeral Mass at the church on Tuesday. A family interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
