Evelyn Kathryn Saccoman
Evelyn Kathryn Saccoman, 77, Nashwauk, died Tuesday August 27, 2013, at Essentia St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth.  She was born in Chisholm, MN on November 29, 1935, to Liezerie and Katherine Scaia and was a Nashwauk resident for over 48 years.  Evelyn had worked as a waitress at various area restaurants and also sold Avon products.  She was a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Nashwauk, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Nashwauk and the Loyal Order of The Moose Club in Chisholm.   Evelyn enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her daughter, whom she loved very much.  She was also a bingo player and her dog, Shadow, was very important to her.
She is survived by her husband, Peter Saccoman, of Nashwauk; a daughter, Danielle “Dawnie” Saccoman of Grand Rapids, MN; a brother, Gene (Geraldine “Gerrie”) Scaia of Chisholm; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, William “Bill” Scaia.
Visitation will be Wednesday September 4, 2013, at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, Nashwauk, from 10 AM until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial.  Interment will be in Nashwauk Cemetery.  Arrangements are with Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing.  To leave an online message of condolence, please visit www.doughertyofhibbing.com.
