Frances A. Golla
Frances A. Golla, 99, Hibbing, formerly of Keewatin, passed away on Monday March 6, 2017 at Southview Acres Health Care Center in St. Paul. She was born September 14, 1917 to Peter and Katherine “Katie” (Medved) Koprivec in Crosby Minnesota. Frances was a lifetime member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary in Keewatin and a member of the Women’s Catholic Order of Foresters. She was a devoted Catholic and enjoyed music, bowling, fishing, skating club, knitting and volunteering, and has touched the lives of many throughout her life.
Frances is survived by a son Charles (Judy) Golla of Mendota Heights; a daughter, Shirley Ann (Ray Wooten) Higgs of Jacksonville, NC; a sister-in-law, Katherine Koprivec of Keewatin; her four grandchildren, Michael and Charles Higgs, Gregory (Alison) Golla, and Adam (Clare) Golla; along with 6 great-grandchildren, Marina and Desiree Higgs, Kathryn, Deirdre, Isabella and Alexander Golla; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Frances was preceded in death by Edward, her beloved husband of 56 years, her parents, her brothers Anthony (Tony), Charles (Charlie), and Peter Koprivec; her sister Mary Kruchoski and her grandson Christopher Golla.
The family is grateful for the compassionate nurses, aides and caregivers of Southview Acres Healthcare Center and is appreciative to the hospice team of Health Partners for their special gifts in their service to others.
Funeral services for Frances will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, March 10, 2017 at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Nashwauk. The Rev. Fr. Seth Gogolin will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will be at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing following a reception in Frances’s honor at the church in Nashwauk.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to donor’s choice.
