Frances Barbara Stimac
Frances Barbara Stimac, 90, lifelong Hibbing area resident died Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Fairview University Medical Center in Hibbing.  She was born on the family farm in Little Swan to John and Mary Mestek on August 11, 1922.  During the 40’s she worked for US Steel at the Oliver Mine and later worked at General’s Vegetable Market.  Frances was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing.
She is survived by her daughters, Diane (Bill) Astry, Cherry, and Debbie (Frank LaMusga, Chisholm, her brother, Edward Mestek, Antioch, CA, sister, Dorothy Paolo, Hibbing, four grandchildren, Michelle (John) Engbretson, Josh Astry, Carrie (James) Armstrong, Ashlee Randolph, three great grandchildren, Kyle Pucely, Breena Alfredson, and Luciana Armstrong, and numerous nieces and nephews.  Frances was preceded in death by her husband George in 1994, her parents, 3 brothers, and 3 sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am. Wednesday, June 19, 2013, in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with visitation in Church for one hour before Mass. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home.
