Franklin D. Guye, 81, lifelong resident of Hibbing died Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing. He was born July 20, 1943, to Richard and Katherine (Sabin) Guye in Hibbing. Frank attended Hibbing Schools and later would proudly serve his country in the U.S. Navy. After his time with the Navy, Franklin entered the Sacrament of Marriage with Geraldine (Booren) Guye on October 8, 1966, at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing. He was employed as a mechanic with Eveleth Taconite. After his retirement from EVTAC, Frank & Jeff started their plumbing company, Guye’s Plumbing and Heating INC., where he worked alongside his son until he retired from his plumbing career. Frank was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish, VFW Post 8510, the Elks Lodge, the Rifle and Pistol Club, Mesaba Country Club, and Order of the Moose all of Hibbing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing as his favorite pastimes. 

He is survived by wife, Geraldine Guye, Hibbing, son, Jeffrey (Shawn Savolainen) Guye, Hibbing, sister-in-law, Barb Booren, Hibbing, MN, three grandchildren, Madelyn (Trevor) Sprunk, Riley (Bre) Savolainen, and Reid Savolainen, four great-grandchildren, Rowan and Emilia Sprunk, and June and Elsie Savolainen, two nieces, Amanda (Rick) Berry, Jennifer Power, nephew, David (Tracey) Power, great-nieces and nephews, Jacob, Katie, Molly, and Ryan. 

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Katherine, and two sisters, Kathy Guye and Mary Ann Power.

Funeral services for Frank will be 11:00 am, Monday, January 20, 2025, at the Dougherty Funeral Home in Hibbing. The Rev. Fr. Bill Skarich will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am memorial service at the funeral home on Monday. A private interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Fairview Range Hospice, or to the donor’s choice. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
