Fred Angelo

Fred Angelo, 80, lifelong resident of Hibbing died Monday, July 13, 2015 at Heritage Manor in Chisholm, MN. He was born on April 23, 1935, to Anthony and Cordelia (Passino) Angelo in Hibbing. After High School, Fred proudly served his country with the United States Air Force for over 3 years. He later was employed for 15 years as a store manager for National Tea Company, before ending his career with Hibbing Taconite as a warehouse manager. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hibbing. Fred loved his home, loved music, and he played the accordion as a hobby.

He is survived by his children: Tim (Tracy) Angelo, Patrick (Dawn) Angelo, Renee (Bryan) Ridgeway, and Dina Glasser, all of Hibbing; a sister, Helen Donovan, Hibbing, MN; seven grandchildren: Gabriel (Jackie) Ridgeway, Fargo, ND, Grant (Samantha) Ridgeway, Fargo, ND, Jon Angelo, Hibbing, Blake Angelo, Grand Forks, ND, Angelo Glasser, Nicole Glasser, and Gio Angelo, all of Hibbing; two great-grandchildren, Kaleb and Gabriella Ridgeway; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife, Phyllis; by four brothers: Fred, Frank, Joe, and George; and his sister, Mary.

Funeral services for Fred will be held at 11 AM on Friday, July 17, 2015, at Dougherty Funeral Home in Hibbing. The Rev. Fr. Gabriel Waweru will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home on Friday. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing. Arrangements are with Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
