Gary R. Mayer, 61, Kerkhoven, MN, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2012 as a result of complications from surgery. He was a former resident of Hibbing and Wilmar, MN where he had worked for the Public Utilities. Gary will be remembered for the way he actively participated in every second of life and for the way he touched each persons’ life he came in contact with. Life was good for Gary.
He is survived by his children Jennifer (Ryan) Pender of Chisholm, MN, Brian Mayer of Eden Prairie, MN, his parents Raymond and Marie Mayer of Hibbing, brothers: Tim of Elk River, MN and Pete of Ramsey, MN, his sisters: Judy Nelson of Elk River and Kathy Mayer of Hibbing, and 3 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister Joanne.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m Friday, June 15 in the Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing. Visitation will be from 1p.m. until service time.
