Gary P. “Gopher” Perrella
Gary P. Perrella, 54, lifelong resident of Keewatin died Monday, February 2, 2015 at home with his family by his side. Gary was born on September 4, 1960 to P. Gary and Louise (Blanchard) Perrella in Hibbing. He was a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Keewatin. He was employed with his father as a plumber with the family business, Perrella Plumbing. After high school, Gary attended culinary school and was known as a wonderful cook. He really enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and camping.
He is survived by his parents, P. Gary and Louise (Blanchard) Perrella of Keewatin, his three sisters, Debbie (Kevin) Durken, St. Cloud, MN, Sheila Perrella, Sebeka, MN, and Rebecca Unzeitig, Keewatin, MN, two nephews, Jeffrey Nagle, Minneapolis, Brad Unzeitig, St. Cloud, MN, two nieces, Amanda (Jake) Stalboerger, Keewatin, Courtney Dahlin, Sebeka, MN, and his great-niece, Mya Stalboerger. He was preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Funeral services for Gary will be held at 11:00am, Friday, February 6, 2015 at the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing. Richard Johnston will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:30am until the 11:00am service at the funeral home on Friday. A private family interment will be held at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
