Genevieve J. Stolp
Genevieve J. Stolp, 74, Cloverdale, passed away Friday, Nov. 11, 2011 in her home after a courageous 2 year battle with cancer. She was surrounded by the family she loved and cared for. She was born Aug. 2, 1937 in Grey Eagle, MN, the daughter of Melvin and Elizabeth Halling. Genevieve grew up in Calumet, MN and married Donn Stolp on May 28, 1960. They lived in Nashwauk before moving to rural Cloverdale where Genevieve raised her family, teaching them all of the day to day chores of raising cattle, gardening and baking.
She is survived by her husband Donn, daughters; Cheryl Mackey, Carole (Ed) Moe and Bonnie Erickson all of Hibbing, sons; Dan of Effie, MN, Rich of Keewatin, MN and Mark (Tessi) of Nashwauk, sisters; Louise Kolaskie of Sauk Centre, MN, Alvina (LeRoy) Steinberg of Bovey, MN, Edna Kalmi of Castle Rock, CO and Lila (Steve) Hofer of Pengilly, MN, brothers; Harold (Lana) Halling, Del (Sandra) Halling and Ken Kalmi all of Pengilly, her grandchildren Ryan Roberts, Kelly (Shawn) Braford, Aaron (Kayti) Stolp, Matthew (Molly) Stolp, Neil (Heather) Stolp, Mike Stolp and Joe Stolp, 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Evelyn, Pauline, Betty and Gertrude and brothers; Gordon, Robert and Gene.
Private funeral services will be held in the Dougherty Funeral Home.
