Gerald "Jerry" V. Gaige

Born May 16, 1941, in Hibbing, MN to Lesley & Elizabeth (Rapinac) Gaige. He attended Hibbing High School & The University of Minnesota Duluth Campus. He served his country in the United States Air Force. Jerry was an accomplished musician, playing as the lead guitarist for many bands in the area such as Renown, Nostalgia, and Sundance. Jerry married Irene Oja in 1969. The family moved to Northern Nevada in 1983 where he worked as the Chief Fire Assayer, Chemist, and environmental engineer. He retired from the Washoe County Bureau of Air Quality as an investigator in 2013 and moved back to Minnesota. He enjoyed cars, guitars, girls, aspirin, iodine, baths, God, family, and his county.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Irene “Shay”; daughter, Sara; sons, Mike and Chris; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and his brother Tom.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Susan Forsmark and Joanne Stark; and brother Patrick.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
