Gerald Towner

Gerald D. Towner age 79 of Hibbing passed away Tuesday March 7, 2023 at his home. He was born June 3, 1943, to Elmer and Ellen (Blair) Towner in Two Harbors, MN. Gerald has been a resident of Hibbing since 2009 he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed the great beauty of nature. Gerald enjoyed hunting, fishing, cribbage and playing catch. He loved cutting wood and would even climb up trees until a few years ago. Gerald also really enjoyed amusement parks and feeding the pigeons at his home. He was a simple man and enjoyed simple pleasures, he had a heart of gold and was always quick to tell a story or a joke, most important to him was his family. Gerald is survived by his children, Richard (Mary) Towner, Lynn Towner and Sarah Towner, grandchildren, Danielle and Kevin Towner and Kinley Thames many nieces, nephews extended relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Ellen, siblings, Stafford Towner Sr., Joan Murphy, Mary Ellen Hoehn and his beloved companion Buckshot. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Dougherty Funeral Home in Hibbing. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
