Gottfried “Freddy” Engleberger, 58, Hibbing died surrounded by his friends on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at the Solvay Hospice House in Duluth, MN. He was born on July 18, 1955 to Xavier and Helenga (Maging) Engleberger in Bavaria, Germany. Graduating with a Masters Degree in Computer Science, Fred came to the United States. He lived in New York, and a little over 18 years ago moved to Hibbing, MN. He was employed with DMR Electronics in Hibbing. Fred was well known for his wine making, and his special German bread. He loved vegetable gardens and his grapes that he grew every year for his wine. Fred enjoyed traveling, loved nature and the outdoors.
He is survived by his daughter, Sandra WeiBenberger(Tochter), and his Aunt, Anneliese Heringlener (Tante). He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be a gathering of family and friends from 11:00am until 1:00pm on Friday, November 22, 2013 at the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing. A private committal service will be held at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing. Honorary Pallbearers are Gary and Greg Hooper, and David Spawn. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
