Gregory “Greg” P. Severson

            Greg P. Severson, 64 lifelong resident of Hibbing died Sunday, July 16, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN, surrounded by his family.  He was born March 31, 1959, to Merle and Margaret (Schik) Severson in Hibbing.  He married Jean (Popovich) Severson on July 28, 1989 in Chisholm, MN.  Greg was employed with various places throughout his lifetime.  He worked for Taher Food service, the Range Center, Healthline, and most recently the City of Hibbing in Public Works for the past 11 years.  Greg loved spending time with his family.  He was a great friend to many, and well loved by all who knew him.  Some of his favorite times, were spending time with his grandkids, complaining about the Vikings, hanging out with his best friend, his dog, “Chance”, going to his neighbors for evenings by the fire, or just being entertained by the kids in his neighborhood.  Greg enjoyed reading sci-fi, movies, and more recently, taking virtual tours of places on YouTube.   

            He is survived by his wife, Jean Severson, children, Angie (Dan) Hendrickson, Nick Hagadorn, all of Hibbing, MN,  his siblings, Keith (Diane) Severson, Bloomington, MN, Gary (Shirley) Severson, Alexandria, MN, Dennis (Jackie) Severson, Seattle, WA, and Janice (Eric) Roller, St. Paul, MN, four grandchildren, Jenna Hendrickson, Andrew Hendrickson, Tamera Gosser, and Kinslee Hagadorn, along with many nieces and nephews.

            He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers, Wayne, Bruce, Dale, Ron, Rick, and Roger Severson, along with his beloved dog, Chance. 

            Funeral services for Greg will be 11:30 am, Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.  The Rev. Dorothy Duquette will officiate.  Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the 11:30 memorial service at the funeral home on Saturday.  Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
