Gwyneth F. Lee, 79, longtime resident of Hibbing died Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at home with family by her side.  She was born on April 20, 1934 to Louis and Mary (Ribich) Putzel in Mitchell Location near Hibbing.  She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, the funeral circle, and the CCW.  She loved to cook and was known for her pasties and sauerkraut and dumplings.  Gwyn painted and wallpapered many houses in town.  She also worked for Range Floral and the Hibbing Diary Queen.  She was active in many bowling leagues throughout her lifetime, traveling to many national bowling tournaments around the country.  Gwyn loved to crochet and had made many afghans and donated them for palliative care for cancer patients, as well as for the homeless, life care, the pregnancy center, and many children hats for Rev. Fr. Gabriel Waweru to take to Kenya.
She is survived by her children, Tom (Tammy) Lee, Sedro-Woolley, WA., Steve (Mary) Lee, Hibbing, Amy (Craig) Petrick, Clarksville, TN., brothers, Louis Putzel, San Angelo, TX., Kenneth (Barbara) Putzel, Sun City, AZ., sisters, Marlene (Norbert) Milanowski, Las Vegas, NV., Carol Putzel, Hibbing, 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harry in 1970, daughter, Theresa Lee in 2008, infant son Joseph Lee, and two sisters, Betty Sterle, and Lois Sabin.
Funeral services for Gwen will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing.  The Rev. Fr. Anthony Craig will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.  Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm, Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing with recitation of the Rosary at 6:30 pm.  The visitation will then continue at the church on Thursday from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am funeral Mass.  Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.  Memorials may be made to North Star Hospice.
