Harvey D. Haugen, 83, Hibbing, died Monday, December 29, 2014 at Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing.  He was born in Oklee, MN to Harold and Mae (Rodman) Haugen, on April 18, 1931 and was a United States Navy Veteran.  Mr. Haugen attended Bemidji State and the University of North Dakota at Grand Forks. He was one of the original owners of Noramco Engineering in Hibbing and was a Civil Structural Engineer.  Harvey had also been employed with Davy McKee.  He was a member of Engineer’s Club of Northeastern Minnesota, the Hibbing Trap Club, and had been a Boy Scout Leader of Troop #8.  He enjoyed square dancing, the cabin at Haskell Lake and mostly his family.
Harvey will be missed by his wife, Joy, three children, Duane Haugen, Hibbing, Brian (Georgia) Haugen, Nashwauk, and Karen (Joe) Warmuth, Pengilly, siblings, Clara Iverson, Thief River Falls, MN, Marlyn (Deloris) Haugen, Oklee, and Bonnie Prigge, Biwabik, 10 grandchildren, Jessica (Pat) Noonan, Marisa (Nick) Kenjelo, Alicia (Bill) Mandich, Scott Haugen, David Haugen, Katie (Josh DiIorio)Warmuth, Andrew (Jake Barnes) Warmuth, James (Sina Richert) Warmuth, Peter Warmuth and Melodi Haugen, and 5 great grandchildren, Damien & Dalton Mandich, Emma & Gavin Noonan, and Dominic Kenjelo. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark, his parents, and sisters, Violet Eliason and Marcella Hanson.
Memorial services will be held at Karen and Joe’s residence (the former St. Kevin’s Catholic Church in Pengilly) 31474 St. Hwy 65, at 11:00 am., Friday January 2, 2015 with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing at a later date. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home.
