Helen Blanche Dobos
Helen Blanche Dobos, 96, Pengilly, died Friday, October 17, 2014, at Grand Itasca Hospital in Grand Rapids, MN.  She was born in Browerville, MN on March 10, 1918, to James and Anna (Havel) Lapitz.  Helen and Edward Dobos were united in marriage on Sept. 26, 1939, in Browerville, and they owned a farm near Browerville.  In 1952, Edward took a mining job and they moved to Pengilly, where Helen was a homemaker.  She would work part time during the summer months at Swan Lake Country Club and other area businesses.  Helen enjoyed baking, working in her large garden, canning, going fishing with Edward, and helping others.  In her later years, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends, especially with her grandchildren.  She was a member of St. Kevin’s Catholic Church in Pengilly and the Pengilly Senior Citizens Club.
She is survived by four children:  Gary Dobos of Kodiak, AK, Joel Dobos of Pengilly, Monica Kezar of Orcus Island, WA, and Bernadette Dobos of Pengilly; five grandchildren:  Dan Kezar, Adrianna Kezar, Kristin Dombrow, Lindsey Kirkland, and Corey Dobos;  seven great-grandchildren:  Maxwell Kezar, Keaton Kezar, Constance Kezar, Beau Kirkland, Dakota Kirkland, Mackenzie Dombrow, and Wyatt Dombrow; and by numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; by infant twin sons, Roger and Rodney Dobos; by her parents; and by five siblings: Charlie, Arthur, and Ed Lapitz, Anna Sutton, and Emily Varin.
