Illona Kathleen Jaksha
Loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother, died on July 30, 2017 at the age of 87 at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Charles Jaksha, her children Anthony Joseph and Edward Anthony, and her brother Edsel Virgin.
She is survived by her son Joseph (Kari Huska) of St. Paul, Minnesota; grandchildren David and Katelyn Jaksha of St. Paul, Minnesota; daughter Catherine Jaksha of St. Paul, Minnesota; and daughter Kaaren Jaksha of Vadnais Heights, Minnesota.
Illona was born May 17, 1930 in Dallas, Wisconsin to Edward and Inga Vergin. She obtained her teaching degree in elementary education at the University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire. She went on to teach in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Robbinsdale, Minnesota. While teaching, she met her future husband Charles (Chuck) Jaksha. They were married on June 15, 1963 and made their home in Hibbing, MN.
Illona devoted her adult lifetime to her family. She raised her three children in Hibbing and spent her later years in Shoreview and Roseville Minnesota where she enjoyed having her family nearby and found special joy in her grandchildren.
