Iris Mae Cole

Iris Mae Cole, 69, Lifelong Hibbing resident died Wednesday, February 3, 2016 after a short stay at Cornerstone Villa in Buhl. She was born in Hibbing to Martin and Myrtle (Skeesuck) Rice on December 26, 1946.  Iris had been employed with Hibbing Electronics.  She enjoyed reading, dancing, spending time with her family and the grandchildren and playing cards and dice with her sisters.  She was a very active member of the Open Door Church spending an enormous amount of time in the church kitchen.

Iris will be missed by her children, Carin (Richard) Hyduke, Hibbing, Robert (Katrina) Cole and Glenn (Coleen) Cole both of Meadowlands, life partner, Deno Arabanos, Hibbing, best friend, Patty Pocrnich, Hibbing, brothers, Mervin (Peggy) Rice and Roger (Doreen) Rice, both of Hibbing, Norman (Lois) Rice, Shakopee, Minn., and Raymond (Regina) Rice, Big Lake, AZ, sisters, Neoma Auel and Nola Renskers, both of Hibbing, grandchildren, Grant, Vanessa, Tessa, Justin, Felicia, Olivia, Tyler, Jordan, and Maia, great granddaughter, Claira, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Martin Rice Jr., and Marvin Rice, 3 sisters, Rosetta Lucas, Rosella Woessner, and Roseina Rice.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am., Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in the Open Door Church.  Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Tuesday in the Dougherty Funeral Home and continue at church on Wednesday at 10:00 am. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
