James Robert Carlson
James Robert Carlson, 71, Hibbing, died Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Hillcrest Parkside in Hibbing. He was born to Robert and Dorothy (Erickson) Carlson in Florence, Alabama on January 14, 1945, graduated from Hibbing High School and from Macalester College where he was an All American Swimmer. He had been a carpenter in the construction trade.
James is survived by his wife, Jane Ahlf, two daughters, Stephanie (Gary) Parsons, Naples, Fla., and Elizabeth Kelsey, South St. Paul, granddaughter, Avery Kelsey, brother, Dennis Carlson, Hibbing and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of James’ life will be held at a later date.
