James T. Gramling

James T. Gramling, 81, Hibbing, died Sunday, August 2, 2015, at Hillcrest Parkside in Hibbing.  He was born Sept. 6, 1933, in Milan, MO to Kenneth and Ima Lucille (Marvin) Gramling.  Jim served in England as a member of the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant.  He was united in marriage to Nancy Kirsch on Sept. 6, 1954, in Duluth, MN.  Jim had worked as a mechanic for Otis Elevator.  He was a Mason for over 46 years and a member of Aad Temple Shrine, Scottish Rite Bodies, and Clement Lodge # 0680 of Colona, IL.

He is survived by three children:  Brian (Carleen) Gramling of Cook, MN, Brenda (Kevin) Krebs of Spokane, WA, and Julie (Steve) Jackson of Hibbing; six siblings:  Marva “Earleen” Pinnick of FL, Carolee Wilson and Phyllis Rae Holland, both of Missouri, Kenneth (Norma) Gramling, Jr, Lowell “Burton” (Darlene) Gramling, and Pharis “Marvin” (Patricia) Gramling, all of Illinois; seven grandchildren:  Misty (Jamie) Scherf, Tyler Gramling, Ashley (Josh) Gilland, Ross Gramling, Victoria “Tori” Londo, Alex Gramling, and Brittani Londo; four great-grandchildren:  Jacob and Tiana Scherf, Adrianna “Addi” Smith, and Brody Curtis.  Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy, in 2003; and by his parents.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday, August 6, 2015, at Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing, with visitation in the funeral home Thursday from 10—11 AM.  Interment will be made privately in Oneota Cemetery, Duluth, at a later date.  To leave an online message of condolence, please visit www.doughertyofhibbing.com .
