James "Jim" Hanson

James “Jim” Hanson, age 59, of Hibbing, MN, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025, in Hibbing, MN.

He was born on December 18, 1965, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Richard and Rosemary (Beach) Hanson. He spent his childhood in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he made lasting memories and lifelong connections. Jim was an outdoorsman at heart who enjoyed four-wheeling and riding motorcycles, especially Harley-Davidsons. He had a special bond with his grandchildren, great-nieces, and great-nephews, and cherished the time he spent with them, whether it was playing Fortnite, watching movies, or just spending time together. Jim was a certified tattoo artist, a self-made entrepreneur, and had a remarkable talent for anything he set his mind to.

Jim is survived by his children, Amanda Hanson, Alexus Hanson, and James (Amy) Werlich; nieces, Ashley Hanson and Anna Hanson; grandson, Geno Werlich Jr; great-nieces and nephews, Layla Velez, Messiah Vaughn, Aaliyah Vaughn, Destiny Hanson, Desiree Lockett, Diamond Lockett, and Dynasty Lockett; brother, David Hanson; and Christina Overby.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Rosemary; and his brother, Jeffrey Hanson.
