James T. “Jimmer” Adamich

Dec. 31, 1943 July 26, 2024

James Thomas “Jimmer” Adamich, 80, Hibbing left his limitations behind and became a healthy soul as he joined his family in Heaven on Friday, July 26, 2024 at Heritage Manor in Chisholm, MN. He was born December 31, 1943 in Hibbing, MN to Katherine (Pavelich) and William Adamich.

Jimmer grew up in a “Bohunk” family, surrounded by brunettes. After both of his parents passed away, Jimmer lived with his older brother Jack and his wife Audrey. He eventually moved into a Range Center group home where he discovered another life…one with blond haired females. He became smitten.

Jimmer didn’t desire special attention, but he deserves mention of his many accomplishments. Nonverbal since birth, Jimmer spoke volumes with his eyes and gestures. Never taught, but always a teacher of kindness and compassion.

Jimmer worked at the Range Center doing Janitorial work, supervising staff and also worked in the Dietary Department as a cook. He enjoyed a good cup of coffee, cheese puffs, Little Debbie treats and a good western show.

He moved to Heritage Manor where he lived until his passing. Heritage Manor was not a nursing home for Jimmer, it was his home. Jimmer made many friends with the staff, nursing home residents and their family members. A person knew you were in his circle of friends when he gave you a knuckle sandwich. Jimmer was one tough guy who endured many health problems over the years and accepted each obstacle that came his way.

Jimmer was greatly loved by his family and we were blessed to have this special man in our lives. He taught each one-of us; kindness, strength and love. Jimmer got a first-class ticket to Heaven. Until we meet again….here’s one last knuckle sandwich.

Jimmer is survived by his two sister-in-laws; Audrey Adamich and Becky Adamich, Glenda Townley/Guardian and niece (Jim) Townley, Jackie (Jimmy) Homick/niece, Jeff Adamich/nephew, Tim (Lisa) Adamich/nephew and Joni (Brad) Morse/niece and many great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews, the loving staff at Heritage Manor. Jimmer’s family were the lucky ones to have had him in their lives.

Jimmer was preceded in death by his parents, William and Katherine Adamich, brother, Jack and his brother Jerry.
