James R. Meados, 86, Cold Spring, MN formerly of Hibbing died Friday, February 21, 2014 at Assumption Home in Cold Spring.  He was born to John and Agnes Meados in Chisholm, MN on August 6, 1927.  James was a Navy Veteran having served during WW II.  He married Angela Marolt in Gilbert, MN on August 30, 1958 and had been employed as an Administrator/Social Worker for St. Louis County for 30 years. Jim was a longtime volunteer for Northstar Hospice and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Jesus Light of the World Prayer Group, and a former member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a member of St. Boniface Church, Cold Spring.
He is survived by his children, Stephen (Margaret) Meados, Andover, MN, and Mary (Pat) Salstrand, Cold Spring, MN, and sister, Helen Pence, Lakeville, MN, 5 grandchildren, Alex, Blake, and Katie Salstrand, and Christopher and Timothy Meados.  James was preceded in death by his wife Angela on September 26, 2012, parents, brothers, Fred, and twin brother, John, and Louis (Donald)
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, February 24, 2014 in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Brian Lederer celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial.  Visitation will be in Church for one hour before Mass.  Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home.
