James Perry Powers Sr.
James Perry Powers Sr., 85, Hibbing, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at his home.  He was born in Richlands, VA to Robert and Mary (Finley) Powers on April 23, 1932.  He was employed with Island Farm Creamery and had mainly worked at Hibbing Tac as a Water Treatment Technician.  James was an evangelist of the word of God and had led many Bible studies and ministered through song and volunteering at area nursing homes for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Janice, his son James “Pete” (Diana “Dede) Powers, Scottsdale, AZ, step son, Scott (Julia) Hiatt, Hibbing, 4 grandchildren, Melissa, Becky, Leslie, and Ethan, 6 great grandchildren, Taylor, Hailey, Chloe, Hunter, Sawyer, and Oliver, one great-great grandson, Easton, and 3 step grandchildren, Joseph, Cody, and Emma.  He was preceded in death by his wife Lois and his son David.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am. Saturday, September, 9, 2017 in the Christian Way Fellowship Church in Meadowlands with Pastor Lloyd Olds officiating.   Visitation will be for one hour before the service. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing.
