Janet Carruth

Janet Ann (Schultz) Carruth, longtime resident of Hibbing, passed away peacefully, December 22, 2017, at Guardian Angels Health Care Center in Hibbing, MN. She was born November 29, 1944, in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, the daughter of Sylvester and Agnes Schultz. She was raised in Morgan, Minnesota, and graduated from high school there. She married Larry Carruth and they made their home in Sleepy Eye and Redwood Falls, before moving to Hibbing in 1970. She was a homemaker until her children started school and then worked at Northwoods Ford in Hibbing until her retirement. Janet enjoyed bowling and golfing for many years, traveling and watching her grandchildren’s sporting events.

Janet is survived by her children, Tim (Jill) Carruth of Hibbing and Tami Carruth of Smyrna, TN, six grandchildren, Ashley and Kenny Rudstrom, Timothy and Travis Carruth and Abbey and Nick Benoit, great-granddaughter, Laila Pugh, her siblings, MaryLou (Howard) Voelz of Morgan, MN, and Denise (Tom) Palmer of Fairfax, MN, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Larry, sister and brother-in-law Diane and Robert Klingseisen and grandson Anthony Carruth.

Visitation will be December 28, 2017, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church in Hibbing, with a family service to follow.
