Janice Diane Johnson
Janice Diane Johnson, 75, of Hibbing, died Sat. Dec. 10, 2016 at Cornerstone Villa in Buhl, MN. She was born on Feb. 9, 1941 in Hibbing to Gust and Allie Erickson. She graduated from high school in 1959 and was employed for many years at Fairview University Medical Center in the mental health unit and then at the switchboard. She retired in 2010.
She is survived by her son Joe Sprengel of Paso Robles, CA, daughter Julie (Terry) Hamlin of Hibbing, 2 grandchildren Danny Hamlin and Tabitha Hamlin, 6 great grandchildren, sisters; Kathy (Art) Lind, Barbara (Ron) Vogt, brother Ted Erickson, brother-in-law Gary Sande and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Phil Johnson, sisters; Suzanne Sande and Patricia Erickson and brother Bill Erickson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016 in the First Lutheran Church, Hibbing. Visitation will be in the Dougherty Funeral Home, Wednesday, Dec. 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. and will continue in the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time.
