Jean B. Passino, 83, Hibbing, died Friday, January 31, 2014, at Guardian Angels Health Care Center, Hibbing.  She was born August 21, 1930, in Hibbing, MN to Joseph and Angeline (Grebence) Passino.  Jean was a 1952 graduate of Saint Scholastica in Duluth and had worked as a home economics and science teacher for 30 years at Nashwauk High School.  She retired in 1987.  She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Hibbing and was very active in the National Catholic Society of Foresters, St. Francis Court 610.  In addition to teaching, Jean worked part-time as a field representative selling insurance for the Foresters.  Jean held national office as a director with the Foresters for two terms in addition to holding local office many times.  In her retirement years, Jean organized many bus trips to area casinos for senior citizens as part of a group she founded, the Hibbing Sloker Seniors.  In her free time, she enjoyed knitting, sewing, baking, and traveling.  She loved children.
She is survived by many loved ones.
Visitation will be 5—7 PM on Thursday, February 6, 2014, at Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing, with parish wake prayers at 6:30 PM.  Visitation will continue on Friday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Hibbing, from 10 AM until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial.  Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing.  To leave an online message of condolence, please visit www.doughertyofhibbing.com.
