Jean Marie Raukar
Jean M. Raukar, 60, lifelong resident of Hibbing, died Wednesday, October 22, 2014, in Hibbing. She was born on September 17, 1954, to Dan and Margaret (Rapinac) Skorich in Hibbing. Diagnosed with a rare blood disease, Jean underwent a difficult treatment but finally succumbed to the disease. Prior to her illness, she had been employed with Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing where she was an Emergency Room Nurse.
Jean was passionate about her grandchildren, and loved to create furniture and stained glass artwork. She was also an avid seamstress and gardener; people envied her beautiful flowers and well-kept yard.
She will be greatly missed by her three children, Cade (Laura) Raukar, Hibbing, Aaron (Erin) Raukar, Crystal, MN, and Lindsay (Daniel) Lerick, Hibbing; two siblings, Mana Holtz, Naples, FL, and Robert Dan Skorich, Hibbing; five grandchildren, Alli and Drew Raukar, and Henry, Charlie, and Milo Lerick; a niece, Carri Priley; and nephew, Christian Peterson. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Dale Peterson.
Per Jean’s request, there will be no services at this time. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
