Jean M. Severson

Jean Marie Severson, 70, lifelong resident of Hibbing died Monday, January 6, 2025, at Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing. She was born December 16, 1954, to Nicholas and Ann (Novolich) Popovich in Hibbing. She graduated from Hibbing High School. Jean would hold many jobs throughout her lifetime and was a Teacher’s Aide for the Assumption Catholic School most recently. Jean entered the Sacrament of Marriage with Greg Severson on July 28, 1989, in Chisholm, MN. Jean enjoyed needle point, reading, gardening, and most of all, spending time with her grandkids.

She is survived by her children, Angie (Dan) Hendrickson, and Nick Hagadorn, both of Hibbing, four sisters, Georgia Bogart, Phoenix, AZ, Ann Marie Solomon, Buhl, MN, Sue Hill, Chisholm, MN, and Sharon Popovich, Bloomington, MN, four beloved grandchildren, Jenna and Andrew Hendrickson, Tamera Gosser, and Kinslee Hagadorn, along with several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Greg in July of last year, her parents, Nicholas and Ann, and her beloved dog, Chance.

Funeral services for Jean will be 11:00 am, Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing. Steve Tomberlin will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home on Saturday. A private interment will take place at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
