Jeanne “Mollie” Oberstar Martin
Jeanne O. Martin, 91, Hibbing, formerly of Edina died Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Hillcrest Alice in Hibbing.  She was born on September 16, 1923 to John and Mary (Hrovat) Oberstar of Hibbing.  She grew up and attended school in Hibbing.  Jeanne had worked as a proofreader, companion, and caregiver.  She was an avid reader of books, enjoyed sports, and travel.  For several years she lived overseas and always stated that residing in Peru was the most enjoyable.  Jeanne was a member of a large family of thirteen.   She was preceded in death by her brothers, John (Mary), Joseph (Dorothy), Charles (Angela), Edward, Louis (Mary), Frank (Lucille), Walter (Delores), and William (Kathryn); sisters, Fredricka (Louis) Kordish, Ann (Clarence) Barton, Frances Oberstar, and Mary (Richard) Anderson.  She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Jeanne will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing.  The Rev. Fr. Gabriel Waweru will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at church on Saturday.  Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
