Jerome J. Olson, 57, lifelong resident of Hibbing died Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Essentia St. Mary’s in Duluth, MN.  He was born on May 7, 1958 to John and Phyllis (Hanson) Olson in Hibbing.  He really enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, four wheeling, and watching the races on Saturday night.  He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan, and especially liked hanging out with his family whom were very important to him.

He is survived by his children, Aaron Olson, and Derek Olson, both of Kelly Lake, and step-son, Jesse Makela, his siblings, Les (Sheri) Olson, Hibbing, Todd (Gina) Olson, Hibbing, Myrna (Bill) Rustad, Alexandria, MN, Judy (Ron) Kylochko, Chisago City, MN, Carol Yaroscak, Cindy (Scott Timmerman) Olson, both of Kelly Lake, and Roxanne (Tony) Berwald, Maplewood, MN, three grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Phyllis Olson and step-father LaVerne E. Olson.

Funeral services for Jerome will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, July 17, 2015 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hibbing.  The Rev. Kevin Olson will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Friday.  Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
