Peloquin, Jill Marie. Age 48, Durham, North Carolina. On July 4th, 2018 Jill gained her independence from pancreatic cancer. She was born on August 9, 1969 in Hibbing, Minnesota to Robert and Carol Peloquin. Jill graduated from Hibbing High School in 1987 and from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Biology. She went on to become a Certified Public Accountant and was currently employed as a Controller at Grubb Ventures of Raleigh, NC. She met her life’s running mate, Scott, when they joined a marathon training group in Durham, NC. They were married for 13 years and have two children, Grace, age 12 and Daniel, age 10. Jill was an avid athlete, always looking for the latest challenge. She participated in many distance races and triathlons, with her crowning achievement being the completion of two iron-distance triathlons. She was a devoted care-taker of rescue animals, and foster-parented dogs through Peak Lab Rescue. Her protective instincts started at the age of five when it was discovered she had been secretly rescuing cats and using her parents’ garage as her own personal animal shelter. Jill is survived by her husband Scott McCulloch, her children Grace and Daniel both at home. Her parents, Robert and Carol Peloquin of Hibbing, her siblings: Steven (Kay) of Park Rapids, Mary (Jerry) Wulf of Apple Valley, Kathy (Randy) Asman of Estherville, IA, Deb (Blake) Olson of Gladstone, MI, Michael (Jeanne) of Duluth, MN, Richard of Maplewood, Jim (Liz) of Circle Pines, Amy (David) Dahl of Floodwood Lake, and her twin sister Jane (Tim) Fink of Rochester, MN. She is also survived by her mother-in-law Leslie McCulloch and sister-in-law Leanne, both of California, as well as many nieces and nephews. Jill’s family extends their deepest appreciation and gratitude to the oncology staff of the Duke Cancer Center as well as the oncology nursing staff and Dr. Deb Ralston at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Duluth. They helped make Jill’s last trip up North and final days peaceful, and created a loving environment for her family. A celebration of her life for family and friends will be held at Dougherty Funeral Home in Hibbing on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 10:00AM with remembrances at 10:30. Access, due to the parade will be from 26th St. only. Jill will be greatly missed by her family and will forever be an inspiration – a true warrior – to all who have been a part of her life.
