Joann A. Olson, 71, Hibbing, died Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Fairview University Medical Center in Hibbing. She was born to William and Jeanette Noonan on September 6, 1941 in Wilkinson, MN and graduated from Keewatin High School. She enjoyed Sewing, Crocheting, and was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary at First Lutheran Church. She was employed with the Hibbing Hospital as a Nurse’s Assistant from 1964 to 1995. Her favorite activity was always helping with the grandchildren.
Joann is survived by her children, Emily Boe, Delano, MN, and her children, Leslie (Jeff), Natalie (Tyler), and Brooke Mather, Merlin (Gina) Middlestead, Meadowlands, and their children, Michael, Shelby, Marisa, Mercedes, and Mitchell, and Lorne (Nancy) Middlestead, Hibbing, and their child, Savannah, her brothers, Paul Noonan, Oscoda, MI, John Noonan, Topeka, KS, four sisters, Lillian Spicer, Culver, MN, Lavern (Alan) Kennedy, Walker, MN, Darlene Smith, Deer Creek, MN, and Wilma (Earl) Wollin, Bovey, and 1 great grandson, Carter. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by, her husbands, Melvin Middlestead and Theodore Olson, son, Richard Middlestead, siblings, Douglas, George, and Dennis Noonan, and Doloris Sjolie.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am. until the time of sharing at Noon, Saturday, February 9, 2013 in the Dougherty Funeral Home. Spring burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
