Joanne B. Majkrzak, 83, Nashwauk, formerly of Minnetonka died Saturday, December 20, 2014 in her home with her family by her side.  She was born on November 27, 1931 to Joseph and Agnes (Smykal) Mangen in Wayzata, MN.  A homemaker by trade, Joanne always took good care of her family.  She was known for being a seamstress, she loved quilting and sewing.  She was a member of the quilting club, the Target Coffee Club, her local garden club, and the Mad Hatters. She also enjoyed walking, gardening, and shopping as her pastimes, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.
She is survived by her two children, William (Patricia) Makozak, Maui, HI, and Mary (Mel) Mickelson, Nashwauk, MN, her sisters, Charlotte Masica, Plymouth, MN, Shirley (Milan) Michalec, Fredricksburg, TX, and Annette (Sam) Hedge, Tracy, MN, her sisters-in-law, Gladys “Peewee” Bogucki, and Mary Anne Majkozak, both of Minneapolis, her six grandchildren, Carrie Mickelson, Nashwauk, Abbie nee` Mickelson (Tim) Vogtlin, Hibbing, MN,  Alicia Mickelson, Nashwauk, MN, Marcie (Todd) Dobmeier, Northfield, MN, Heather Mickelson, Princeton, MN, and Winter Mickelson, Bovey, MN, her seven great-grandchildren, Trace, Kelsie, Brooke, Sierra, Morgan, Dayna, and Raven, and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Edmund “Ed” Majkrzak in 2012.
Funeral services for Joanne will be held at 3:00pm, Monday, December 29, 2014 at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Nashwauk, MN.  The Rev. Fr. Seth Gogolin will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral Mass at the church on Monday.  Interment will be in the Nashwauk Cemetery, in Nashwauk.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
