John Clarence Flynn
John C. Flynn, 64, of Balkan Township near Chisholm, died Tuesday, April 14, 2015, in his home. He was born in Duluth, MN on Dec. 21, 1950, to Clarence and Miriam Flynn. John served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War and had worked at MinnTac as a heavy equipment operator. When he retired, he worked as a driver for Care-A-Van and later Recover Health. John was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and was proudly sober for over 29 years.
He is survived by his wife, Antonette, of Balkan Township; three children: Misty (William) Hubbard of Maryland, Molly (John Fratzke) Flynn of Chisholm, and Travis (Leah Griffin) Flynn of Hibbing; two grandchildren, Cody Flynn and Christian Trent, with more blessings to come; three siblings: Mary Jo Nygard of Duluth, Michelle (Neil Kehoe) Joki of Meadowlands, and Jeff (Caillin) Flynn of Duluth; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Flynn of Duluth and Mel (Bob) Cogger of Hibbing; a brother-in-law, Don (Alice) Infelise of Sumter, SC; numerous nieces and nephews; his best friend, Mike “Jake” Jacobson of Hibbing; his A.A. family, and his faithful dog, Bailey. John was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother, Tim Flynn.
