John Knight

John Knight Senior, age 86, of Hibbing, Minn., passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at the Cornerstone Villa in Buhl, Minn.

He was born in St. Paul, Minn., on Dec. 19, 1935, to James and Lorna (Sisson) Knight.

They settled in Minneapolis and adopted John when he was just 10 days old. After high school, he served his country in the United States Army. Later on, John worked as a welder in the mines and eventually retired at Hibbing Taconite Company in 1994.

He lived out his life in Hibbing and loved his children so very much. He grew to know several good friends where he lived, including: Scott, Jim, and his neighbor Sherri. He also became good friends with Rev. Terry Tilton and Rev. Kevin Olson.

He is survived by his children, Lorna Bowen, James Knight and John Knight Jr.; and his siblings.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Friday, Aug. 5, at the Dougherty Funeral Home in Hibbing. Rev. Terry Tilton will officiate.

Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at 11 a.m.

His final resting place will be at St. John's cemetery in Darwin, Minn.
