John Todd Rantala, 58, Iron, MN, died Fri. Aug. 30, in Hibbing. He was born April 2, 1955 in Grand Rapids, MN to John and Mavis Rantala and had grown up in Nashwauk, MN. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and lived in Alaska for many years working as an iron worker.
He is survived by his daughter Julie Blum of Minneapolis, 3 grandchildren and a friend, Tammie Beckman of Iron.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. services, Thursday; Sept. 26, 2013 in the Nashwauk Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Nashwauk Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing
