John E. “Jack” Soderstrom
John E. “Jack” Soderstrom, 64, Hibbing, left this life Friday, September 11, 2015, in Rochester, MN. He was born March 21, 1951, in Springfield, MA to Earl and Margaret Soderstrom. After leaving school in Springfield, Jack began a career in cooking which most recently brought him to Hibbing. He was the owner of Sod’s Four Seasons at the Crown Ballroom. Prior to Hibbing, Jack spent many years in Westerly, RI, an area which he loved with his family.
Jack was a very passionate, creative, energetic and loving man who shined in his cooking, home life and everything he did. Jack was the type of person that would give his last nickel or ounce of energy to help a loved one in need. Due to this, he developed many friends everywhere he went. He was a very dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Soderstrom, Hibbing; children: John (Holly Spencer) Soderstrom, Bradford, RI, Joshua Soderstrom, Hibbing, Jessica (Jonathan Dexter) Soderstrom, Minneapolis, MN, and Eric Soderstrom, Florida; siblings: Earl (Marie) Soderstrom Jr., Florida, Betty Soderstrom, North Carolina, Robert (Karen) Soderstrom, Massachusetts, Diane (Larry) Richter, Florida, Joyce Soderstrom, Massachusetts, Rose (Rick) Richter, Arizona, and Terry (Cheryl) Soderstrom, Massachusetts; two grandchildren: Zachary Dexter and Astrid Soderstrom; a special niece, Cindy (Noel) Thompson, North Carolina; many nieces and nephews; his father and mother-in-law, Tom(Audrey) Beadle, Hibbing; and his brothers and sisters-in-law: Linda (Larry) VanIseghem, Duluth, MN, Mike (Carol) Beadle, Chisholm, MN, Tami (Dan) Sexton, Massachusetts, and Heather (Todd) Sampson, Hibbing. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Sandy Soderstrom
A celebration of Jack’s life will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, September 17, 2015, at The Crown Ballroom in Hibbing. Arrangements are with Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing. The family requests that memorial gifts be designated for cancer research at Mayo Clinic.
