Joseph J. Corradi
Joseph J. Corradi, 95, longtime resident of Kelly Lake died Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at the Guardian Angels Health and Rehabilitaton Center in Hibbing. He was born on June 11, 1918 to Eli and Mary (Gallanti) Corradi in Chisholm, MN. Joseph had grown up in Chisholm, moving to Kelly Lake in 1943. He proudly served his country during WWII, serving as a Combat Engineer for the U.S. Army, seeing action at Normandy and the Battle of the Buldge. He was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Kelly Lake, the VFW Post 8510 in Hibbing, the American Legion Post 222 of Hibbing, the Order of the Moose in Hibbing for many years, he was a life member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Hibbing Bocce Ball Club, the Horseshoe Club, and various bowling leagues. His favorite pastimes were, golfing, craft and woodworking, and gardening.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 70 years, Rose C. Corradi, Hibbing, his sons, Joseph A. (Jean) Corradi, Oslo, MN., and Angelo Corradi, Kelly Lake, MN., daughter, Susan (Tom) Graber, Chisholm, MN., brother, Raymond Corradi, Cook, MN., sister, Ann Mills, Gresham, OR., six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, and two sisters.
Per Joseph’s request there will be a private graveside service held in the spring at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
