Joseph Anthony Lendacky
Joseph A. Lendacky, 67, Hibbing, died Saturday, February 21, 2015 at home with his family by his side.  He was born on March 15, 1947, to Jack and Anne (Stilinovich) Lendacky in Hibbing.  A graduate of Hibbing High School, Joe continued his education for three more years at the University of Minnesota.  Joe Lendacky was known by his family, friends and customers as a man of good and honest character, hard work, compassion, generosity, love and kindness.  He celebrated every day as a gift from God to create and maintain, to bless his family, his friendships, and his customers.
The kindnesses Joe showed were not trumpeted in a public forum.  He desired that God receive the glory and not him.  His joy of celebrating LIFE every day in small and big ways will be missed by all who knew him.  His desire was that those would continue to make good memories, enjoying each day as they helped others along life’s journey.
Joe and Nona, high school sweethearts, married Feb. 17, 1968.  It was -40 degrees with the wind chill!  Despite that chilly start, they enjoyed many wonderful years together, raising three children, taking trips and camping with friends.
Joe and Nona learned what love and commitment meant through the example his parents, Jack and Anne Lendacky, faithfully demonstrated.
Joe started L&S Plumbing and Heating in 1980.  He loved working and troubleshooting.  His plumbing skills were in effect, artwork.  In his pursuit of excellence, he encouraged and developed others to become skilled in their talents as well.  Jacob, his son, received ownership of L&S in 2009, leading the team and continuing Joe’s high standards in services and work ethic.  We take this moment to tell all of Joe’s customers that he cared for you personally.  Joe was a great man, greatly loved, and will be missed greatly by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Joe left this life on a cold day as well, but is enjoying a climate-controlled Eternity with his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.  We look forward to a Great Reunion!
He is survived by his wife Nona; his parents, Jack and Anne Lendacky of Hibbing; sisters, Roslyn (Robert) Whalen of Virginia, MN and Joan (Chris) Cotton of Hibbing; one daughter, Danielle Lendacky of St. Paul, MN and her children Mollianne Lendacky, Drake Anthony and Ariana Lipscomb; 2 sons: Joe (Robyn) Lendacky of Duluth, MN and children Joey and Jade and Jacob (Rallista) Lendacky and their daughter Khloe Rose of Hibbing.
A celebration of Joe’s life will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, February 28, 2015 at  Hibbing Alliance Church.  The Rev. Roland Weaver will officiate.  Visitation will be from 10 am until the 12 noon service at the church on Saturday.  Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing.  Arrangements are with Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
