Joseph John Marolt, 92, Hibbing, former longtime Keewatin resident, died Wednesday December 5, 2012 at the Fairview University Medical Center in Hibbing.  He was born to John and Mary Marolt in Keewatin on March 4, 1920.  Joe was a Navy veteran of WW II.  He had been employed at the Pickands Mather Mine in Keewatin and Hibbing Tac as an electrician.  He was passionate about his pastimes, including his carpentry and his sarmas. Joe was generous with his time with his neighbors and friends, including his volunteering with meals on wheels. He was a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Keewatin where he was an active member of the Parish and was also a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus.
Joe will be missed by his children, Larry (Eleanor) Marolt, St. Paul, MN, Pam (Jeff) Stocco, Courtland, MN, Bruce (Jill) Marolt, Florissant, MO, and Marcia (Bert) Beaulieu, Aldie, VA, 9 grandchildren, Sarah (Andrew), Alli, Brad (Prianka), Kristen, Michelle, Lindsey, Clayton, Brandon, and Denise, 8 great grandchildren, Griffin, Tony, Nicholas, Lexi, Blake, Brendan, Maggie, and Jai.   Joe was preceded in death by his wife Mary on August 7, 2011.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am, Saturday, December 8, 2012 in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1924-5th Ave. E., Hibbing, MN 55746 with the Rev. Fr. Dennis Hoffman officiating.  Visitation will be in Church for one hour prior the   service.  Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.  Military Honors will be accorded by the VFW Post 8510 Honor Guard.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to North Star Hospice, 1101 E. 37th St.,  Suite 27, Hibbing, MN 55746
