Joseph A. Ricci

Joseph A. Ricci age 75 of Hibbing passed away Friday, May 26, 2023 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth. He was born May 6, 1948 in Hibbing, MN to Joseph B. and Fioritia (Cristiano) Ricci. Joe was a 1967 graduate of Hibbing High School, he attended Hibbing Community College before enrolling at UWS-Stoat in Menomonie, WI, where he would go on to earn bachelor's degrees in Industrial Arts and Industrial Technology in 1971. In August of that year he was joined in marriage to Nancy Lopac at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hibbing. Joe started work in Winona and was later transferred to California where he would spend 30 plus years working in the furniture manufacturing industry.  While in California Joe furthered his education with Post Graduate work in Manufacturing Engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles. Joe was a talented woodworker and a true craftsman building numerous original pieces.  Joe was a member of a 4-wheel drive club in California and was a bit of a motorhead; he enjoyed having corvettes and motorcycles. In 2010 he moved back to Minnesota. He is survived by his children, Elisa Ricci, Glendale, AZ, Joseph (Laurie) Ricci, New River, AZ, mother, Fioritia Ricci, siblings, Claudia Hilde, Donna (David) Becchetti, Tom “Mouse” (Dianna) Ricci, Trisha (Dennis) Lonnevik, grandchildren, Angelina, Adrianna and Ava Ricci, Sophia Velez, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews extended relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph B. Ricci. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 am Friday, June 2, 2023 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
