Joseph M. Stimac
Joseph M. Stimac, 99, Hibbing, died Friday, November 18, 2016, at Guardian Angels in Hibbing. He was born July 22, 1917, in Hibbing to George Sr. and Anna Stimac. Joe graduated from Cherry High School in 1935 and had lived and worked for several years at the Androy Hotel as a cook. He later worked as a cook at the Howard Restaurant and then at Butler Brothers Mining Company. Joe retired from Hanna Mining Company as a millwright in the conveyor shop. In the 1950’s and 60’s he was co-owner of the Airway Inn. His pride and joy was his farm and the huge garden he grew there.
He is survived by a sister, Dorothy Klobucher, of Hibbing; by one nephew, several nieces, and many great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers George Stimac, Jr., Peter Stimac, Zvanimir Stimac, Matt Stimac, and John “Jack” Stimac.
