Joyce Elaine Frankovich
Joyce E. Frankovich, 75, Chisholm, formerly of Duluth, died Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at Greenview Residence in Hibbing. Joyce was born in Hibbing on February 19, 1938, to Norvin and Della (Spry) Chapman. She had worked as a nursing assistant at St. Luke’s Hospital for 21 years and then at Falk’s Pharmacy for nine years. Joyce was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Duluth and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Chisholm. She was united in marriage to Lauren Frankovich on November 14, 1962. She loved to knit. Her afghans, socks, and Christmas stockings were treasured gifts for friends and family. Joyce and Lauren loved to spend time at Timberline Campground on the Moosehorn River and her grandkids were her pride and joy. Joyce loved Christmas and had an extensive collection of decorations.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Lauren Frankovich, of Chisholm; five children: Terri (Dave) Warzyn of Superior, WI, Jeff (Wanda) Cimermancic of Hibbing, Tom (Stacey) Frankovich of Clarkston, MI, Scott (Amy Carlson) Frankovich of Duluth, and Laurna (Richard) Skeate of Crosby, MN; two sisters: Jean Javor and Nancy (Doug) Ramseth, both of Forest Lake, MN; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, James Cimermancic, Jr., in 1989, by her parents, and by siblings Laverne Newbauer and Jerry Chapman.
Visitation will be Friday, February 14, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Chisholm, from 10 AM until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Chisholm Cemetery.
