Judy A. Murden, 62, Chisholm, formerly of Hibbing died Monday, February 6, 2012 in her home, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on July 5, 1949 to Stanley and Eldora (Anderson) Mjolsness in Grand Rapids, MN. She retired from National Steel where she was a carpenter for many years. She was a member of the Local Steel Workers Union 2660. Judy enjoyed working with others on various carpentry projects. She loved being at the lake, and helping people out was very important to her. Her friends were her life.
She is survived by her two sons, William Murden and Daniel (Debbie) Murden, both of Hibbing, domestic partner, Carol Repesh, Chisholm, MN., brother, John Mjolsness, Sacramento, CA., three sisters, Sonja Flinck, Grand Rapids, MN., Becky Wright, Spring Lake Park, MN., and Jo Ann (Leland) Nyberg, Marble, MN., eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Eldora (Anderson) Mjolsness, her daughter, Nancy Jo Murden, and son, Robert John Murden.
Per Judy’s request there will be a gathering of family and friends at the VFW Post 8510 of Hibbing at 1:00pm, Saturday, February 11, 2012. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
